By The Italian sources, the first pair of jeans trousers was made by Italian Garibaldi, way back in 1860. By this story the word Jeans would come from the French word Genes, which indicates the Italian port of Genoa and was originally worn sailors. But probably we all prefer to believe the legends that are the first jeans were worn by cowboys from the Wild West.
